Awareness talk on the Harmful Effects of Tobacco and the HPV Vaccine was organized Special Camp at Padma Sarangapani School, ICF, Villivakkam by Kalpavriksham Trust. The session, attended by 40 NSS students, was led by Dr. M. Banu Priya delivered a powerful message on the severe health risks associated with tobacco use, including its strong link to cancers, particularly lung and oral cancers, as well as heart and respiratory diseases. She stressed the importance of avoiding tobacco in all its forms and discussed the lifelong health impacts of addiction. In the second part of the talk, Dr. Banu Priya focused on raising awareness about the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, emphasizing its role in preventing HPV-related cancers, especially cervical cancer. She urged the students to spread awareness about the benefits of early vaccination as a preventive health measure.
